1. Who we are

Sitebator ("we", "us") is an online service for building simple websites for small businesses. By creating an account or buying anything from us, you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You need an account to save and buy sites. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

You must give us a real email address. We use it to confirm your account, send receipts and deliver custom designs.

3. How pricing works

Every new site gets a free 7-day trial for editing. Downloading and publishing need a site unlock.

A site unlock gives you 7 days of editing and downloads for that site. After that the site stays in your account; you can buy an extra week or a year of editing to change or download it again.

A custom design gets you 3 template previews made from your description, sent by email within 24 hours. They are previews only: you can't edit, download or publish them until you unlock a site made from one.

Prices are shown in Canadian or US dollars at checkout, before you pay. All purchases are one-time payments, not subscriptions.

4. Credits

Every purchase becomes a credit on your account. You start it on a site when you are ready, and the time counts from then. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred to another account.

5. Refunds

If something went wrong, contact us. Payments can be refunded through the payment provider you paid with (card or PayPal), under that provider's rules. When a site unlock or an editing pass is refunded, the editing time it gave is taken back.

6. Designs and templates

Designs and templates are not exclusive. Sitebator keeps the rights to the designs and templates we make, including custom designs made for you, and may reuse them as templates for other customers. When we do, we remove your business name and contact details.

7. Your content

You own the text, pictures and other content you add to your site. You give us permission to store, host, copy and display it as needed to run the service, for example to show previews and build your downloads.

You must have the right to use everything you upload.

8. Domains

We don’t sell or register domain names. You buy and renew your domain with a registrar of your choice, and that is between you and the registrar, under their terms and prices. Links to registrars and the yearly prices we show are there for convenience only: the prices are estimates, and we aren’t responsible for a registrar’s service.

When you connect a domain, we only check its DNS records to see where it points. A name becomes yours in Sitebator when the TXT record we give you proves that you control it, and the first account to prove it has it: other accounts that saved the same name can no longer connect it. If you are the real owner of a name someone else has proved, contact us and we will look into it.

9. Acceptable use

Don't use Sitebator for anything illegal, misleading or harmful: no scams, malware, hate, harassment, or content that infringes someone else's rights. Don't try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service. We may suspend or close an account that does.

10. Availability and liability

We work to keep Sitebator running and your work safe, but, to the extent the law allows, the service is provided as is, without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors, and we are not responsible for losses caused by an outage or a mistake. Keep your own copy of anything important, for example by downloading your site.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it applies.
